Telemetry gets a special 'mode' flag indicating that 24-bit data is
present; log files get new data and log readers are expected to detect
that via the firmware version number.

When the device hasn't moved for a while, stop logging data. Start as
soon as it moves again.

directories, it seems) with that name.
